Your donation makes a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families throughout our community. Financial contributions are used for clothing racks and comfort bags, making it possible for us to connect those in need with clothing and supplies that instill a sense of stability, confidence and hope. At the Caring Closet, we can transform your generous donations into a renewed sense of self and positive outlook for those who need it most. Donate Clothes
The Caring Closet sincerely appreciates all forms of community support. As are focus is on children and teens, we accept in season, school appropriate clothing and closed toed shoes. We also accept some adult clothing. Please contact us at donations@caring-closet.org to receive the latest list on what our needs are. Unapproved donations or donations we do not need take value time from our small volunteer team and items that don’t meet our current needs will be discarded.
We limit donations to gently used clothing that is free of holes and stains. All sizes are welcome and encouraged! A good rule of thumb is, if you wouldn’t wear it or send your child to school in the outfit, our clients wouldn’t either. Thank you for your donations!

Another great way to donate new clothes is to shop from our Amazon wish list. Every month we run out of certain items from our inventory. To make sure we continue to serve our clients with the best possible options, we have carefully selected items and added them to this Wish List. At Caring Closet, we depend on dedicated volunteers who are committed to our mission and willing to donate time on a regular basis. Volunteers can opt to sort donations, curate outfits and donation bags, and deliver donations. No matter how you choose to volunteer … you’ll be making a difference in the lives of children and families in the Richmond community.
