Hope Church Collaborates with the Caring Closet
To help combat housing and education insecurity, which leads to clothing deprivation, the Caring Closet has partnered with HOPE church, to launch a new program in the public schools called HOPE BOX.
The Caring Closet provides free gently used clothing, to vulnerable youth and their families, throughout the community and we are excited to launch this new program that will help at risk kids living with limited resources with clothing and needed necessities.
Public schools that are either a Title 1 school (large population of students are on the free lunch program) or have McKenney Vento representation (housing insecurity), will be offered a Closet in a Box at the beginning of the school year, to meet immediate, urgent needs that arise during the school day. Then families will be offered a resource card to reach out to the Closet directly for additional clothing. The Closet will also restock the HOPE BOXes on an as needed basis.
